Summary only. Read the full terms below.
1. About us and these terms
1.1 Your service provider
CHouse.UK is operated by [Operator to be confirmed], registered in England and Wales under company number [number to be confirmed]. Our registered office is [registered office to be confirmed]. Contact [email protected] for account or billing help and [email protected] for legal questions.
1.2 When these terms apply
These terms apply to your use of CHouse.UK. The plan description and order presented before purchase also form part of a paid subscription. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to bind it. A separately signed agreement takes priority only where it expressly changes these terms.
2. The service and official records
We provide independent research tools using public Companies House information. We are not Companies House, a government service or a filing agent, and we are not endorsed by the UK government.
Basic company and officer searches, public profiles and available official filing links can be used without an account. Accounts and paid plans add the features and allowances described in the relevant plan. Use Companies House to file statutory documents and verify the official register. Third-party websites have their own terms.
3. Accounts, teams and security
Keep access to your email, Google account and sign-in links secure. Each person must use their own login; do not share an individual subscription. Tell [email protected] promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You remain responsible for information you submit and instructions given through your account.
Team owners manage membership, paid seats and shared settings. Members may see research shared with that team. Joining or leaving a team does not automatically cancel, refund or transfer a personal subscription.
Keep private calendar subscription links confidential: anyone with a working link may be able to read the deadlines it contains. Reset or turn off a link if it is disclosed. Do not put confidential or unnecessary personal information into public search fields.
4. Monitoring, alerts and reports
4.1 Monitoring and delivery are separate
Companies saved to a watchlist are monitored within the selected account’s allowance. A My Company shortcut alone does not start monitoring. Receiving emails or other notifications requires the applicable alert delivery to be enabled. Free includes a weekly summary; other delivery options depend on your plan.
4.2 Timing and coverage
Changes are recorded from source feeds and checks, then delivered according to the selected settings. Checks and delivery can be delayed, interrupted, incomplete or unavailable. Recorded history starts from the coverage available to us; it is not a complete historical record. Calendar refresh timing is controlled by your calendar provider.
4.3 Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for statutory filings, deadlines and decisions. Alerts, comparisons, company indicators and reports do not replace checking official documents. For client reports or connected apps, confirm the intended recipients and destinations and only share information you are entitled to disclose.
5. Accuracy and professional decisions
Public records can contain errors, omissions or outdated information. A checked date records when we observed information; it does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness. A missing value or an absence of recorded changes does not establish that nothing has changed.
Company indicators describe specific register facts. They are not credit scores, risk ratings or assurances that a company is financially healthy or safe to trade with. CHouse.UK does not provide legal, accounting, tax, financial or investment advice. Verify material facts and obtain appropriate professional advice.
6. Plans, prices and payment
6.1 What you buy
We offer Free, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans. The price, currency, taxes, billing interval, seat capacity, included features and allowances are shown before purchase. Business and Enterprise are offered for business use. Features not included in the order are not promised simply because they appear in a roadmap.
6.2 Billing and renewal
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the interval agreed when you subscribe unless renewal is cancelled. Annual totals are paid upfront. Payment is processed by Stripe. You authorise the charges disclosed in your order; new optional purchases or seat additions require your approval.
6.3 Business seats
The standard Business package includes three seats, including the owner’s seat. Using fewer seats does not reduce the package price. Purchased additional seats add the shared allowances stated in the plan. Reassigning a seat does not create extra capacity.
6.4 Changes and failed payments
We will disclose the price, timing and any proration before you approve a subscription change. We will give notice of material changes to future charges or terms as required by law, with an opportunity to cancel before they apply. A future price change does not retrospectively increase a period already paid for. A subscription does not include a lifetime price guarantee. If payment fails or paid access ends, paid features may be restricted.
7. Cancellation and refunds
7.1 Stop renewal
You can cancel renewal in Billing, or contact [email protected] for help. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep paid access until then. We will confirm cancellation. Deleting a payment method, leaving a team or stopping use does not itself cancel a subscription.
7.2 First Pro payment guarantee
Request a refund from [email protected] within 14 days of your first Pro payment and we will refund that payment in full. This voluntary guarantee applies once per customer, to the first monthly or annual Pro payment only. It does not cover renewals, Business or Enterprise. A guarantee refund ends Pro access and returns the account to Free.
7.3 Statutory rights and other refunds
The guarantee is additional to your statutory rights. If you buy as a consumer, applicable distance-contract cancellation and service-quality rights remain available independently of it. Where the statutory 14-day cancellation right applies, you can exercise it by sending us a clear statement of your decision to cancel. Any lawful charge for service supplied at your express request during a cooling-off period will be explained before supply. Outside the guarantee, we do not offer discretionary refunds for unused time, but will provide refunds or other remedies required by law or expressly agreed with you.
8. Plan reductions and saved work
When a plan or seat reduction takes effect, the new allowances apply. Saved work is not automatically deleted solely because the allowance falls. Excess watchlists or paid-only tools may become read-only, monitoring above the allowance may pause, and delivery may move to an available schedule. Billing and the relevant settings explain the effect and available choices.
Account deletion is separate from cancelling renewal. See the Privacy Policy for deletion and retention. Contact us if you cannot complete a cancellation or exercise a statutory right through the interface.
9. Acceptable use
Do not bypass authentication, plan limits or technical safeguards; disrupt the service; introduce malicious code; or access another person’s private information. Do not use CHouse.UK for unlawful targeting, harassment, impersonation, discrimination or unlawful marketing.
Use permitted downloads within your plan and applicable law. Automated extraction, resale of our service or creation of a competing dataset through our interface requires permission or an agreed interface. These restrictions do not remove rights you have in public material obtained independently or under an applicable source licence.
You are responsible for the lawfulness of client recipient details, imports and instructions you provide, including any required notices, permissions and direct-marketing compliance. Do not upload unnecessary sensitive information.
10. Content, licences and sharing
We or our licensors retain rights in the CHouse.UK name, design, software and original content. You retain rights in content you provide and give us the limited permission needed to host, process and deliver it as you request.
Public-register documents and other third-party material remain subject to their own rights and reuse conditions. We do not grant ownership of public facts or permission beyond the source’s rights. An open-data licence does not remove data-protection duties or necessarily cover personal data and third-party content.
Connected apps and calendar providers operate under their own terms. You control the destinations you connect and the recipients you select. Removing a connection or private link cannot recall copies already delivered, downloaded, cached or imported elsewhere.
11. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains the personal information we use, public-register information, suppliers, retention and your rights. Optional analytics and experience insights require the choices described in Cookie preferences; accepting these terms does not provide cookie or marketing consent.
Account emails controls eligible product-news and market-email choices. Alert settings controls company, watchlist, Discovery and deadline delivery. You can stop promotional emails using the unsubscribe link without signing in. Essential account, security and billing messages may still be sent where needed.
12. Availability, suspension and closure
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted access or a service level unless expressly agreed. Maintenance, upstream failures, security incidents and events beyond our reasonable control may affect availability.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate serious misuse, address non-payment or comply with law. Where lawful and practical, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us. We will not use suspension or changes to avoid rights you have already acquired.
If we withdraw a paid service or make a material change that prevents us performing the contract, we will provide the notice, cancellation rights and remedies required by the contract and applicable law.
13. Responsibility and liability
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Source-data limitations do not remove duties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We do not exclude or limit liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Consumer statutory rights are unaffected.
Subject to those protections, we are responsible for loss caused by our breach where it was a foreseeable consequence. We are not responsible for loss caused by your unlawful use or failure to take reasonable steps to reduce an avoidable loss. Any separate business or Enterprise liability arrangements apply only where clearly agreed with you.
14. Changes, complaints and governing law
We will date changes to these terms and give appropriate notice of material changes. Changes will not retrospectively take away rights already acquired. If a change requires your agreement, we will obtain it. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
Send complaints to [email protected], including enough information for us to investigate. You may also use any dispute-resolution or enforcement rights available by law.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Its courts have jurisdiction, except that consumers keep any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law, including their home courts where the law provides.
